LOCAL ARTISAN TRUNK SHOW OPEN HOUSE

Poughkeepsie, NY – May 6, 2009 – Putting into practice the ideal of thinking local first, Waddle n Swaddle, Dutchess County’s premier independently owned mother and child boutique, will host a Local Artisan Trunk Show Open House on Saturday, May 16^th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The public is invited to the store, situated adjacent to Zimmer Brothers on Raymond Avenue in Poughkeepsie, to meet the local artisans, that have products and services at Waddle n Swaddle everyday, as well as to view their full line of products related to pregnancy, postpartum, children and/or family.  Vendors will include: Surprise Photography; my SIS designs; Three Sisters Herbals; Tickety Bu; HagRag; Yoga with Your Baby; Prenatal and Tiny Yoga Teacher; Lyla’s Lovelies and more.

“There is a great wealth of knowledge and talent right here in the Hudson Valley and this is a perfect chance to put the spotlight where it belongs, while encouraging the community to invest in purchasing locally crafted goods and services,” explains Jenn Sullivan, Certified Lactation Counselor and co-owner of Waddle n Swaddle.  “Shoppers will be able to touch, feel and experience it for themselves, all while meeting the person behind the line and enjoying some light refreshments.”  Like Sullivan, the artisans are all also mothers.  “This event also will show to the community how mothers contribute on so many levels to the diversity of our area.”

Waddle n Swaddle is the Hudson Valley’s first independently owned mother and child boutique, featuring chic, made in the U.S.A. maternity clothes for work, special occasion and everyday, as well as designer maternity jeans. Its products include: maternity accessories such as belly bands, stretch mark creams and lingerie; breastfeeding supplies including bras, tanks, lingerie and breast pumps; postpartum supplies such as support bands, creams and clothing; cloth diapers and accessories; and a sophisticated line of newborn gift items including swaddlers.
