Yoga for Moms (aka Postnatal Yoga)
Yoga for Moms is designed to help moms get out of the house and do something for themselves, without having to arrange for a babysitter! These gentle classes build strength and release tension through a combination of standing, seated and reclining poses suitable for both beginner and advanced students. Through repeated practice women can strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor, tone the reproductive organs, decrease fat in the hips and abdomen, release tightness in the chest, neck and shoulders, and even increase the oxygen content of breastmilk.
No prior yoga experience is necessary. Each mom's specific needs will be addressed, whether 6 weeks, 6 months, or several years post-partum. Classes will provide a supportive environment so that moms who bring their little ones will feel at ease with whatever may come up during class (crying, nursing, diapering). Bring a yoga mat and whatever you need to take care of your baby/child. Baby carriers and toys are available to borrow from the store. Appropriate for women at least 6 weeks post-partum (minimum 3 months following a C-section).

Beginning January 25th (start date may be delayed if enrollment is low)
Classes meet weekly and may be joined at any time. New students may try one class for $20; to continue students must purchase either a 3- or 6-class pass.
Trial class: $20 (one-time use for new students only)
3-class pass: $55 (valid for one month)
6-class pass: $90 (valid for two months)
In case of inclement weather, registrants will be notified if class is canceled and current class pass expiration dates will be extended by one week.
