A Little Bit About Me—How Did I Get Here?
In 1997, I changed my life by changing my diet. My goal was to heal, and after researching too many traditional medicines and diets, I found and fell in love with Chinese Medicine. Through my own healing I felt empowered, and spent the next five years devouring everything I could find on Chinese theory. But I wanted to share my passion, my secret, my knowledge that we can learn to interpret the messages our body sends us and from there, heal. And so, I chose to formalize my education.
By 2005, I completed my Master’s in Oriental Medicine, including acupuncture and herbs. As part of my training,I had the unique opportunity to complete rounds in the Labor and Delivery ward at Lutheran Hospital, providing support to laboring women. Just as my initial quest led me to Chinese Medicine—to devour it whole—those rounds at Lutheran found me my love of treating pregnant women. And I was still insatiable!
For three years I practiced in NYC, treating all stages of women’s health including fertility, pregnancy and postpartum, as well as digestive and emotional disorders. Still fueled by my passion to empower others, the teacher soon became the student, so to speak...
After the birth of my first son, we moved up to the New Paltz area, to enjoy fresh air, a more natural life, and perhaps precisely to end up here. Two additional sons later, I am still learning and growing my practice. My love for Chinese Medicine and its gift of healing has allowed me to treat men, women, mothers, mothers-to-be, and now children for over twelve years! I look forward to the next eight years, to serving this community, and to sharing with you the tools to live a balanced, healthful life.
